USPS \| Stoma Care \| Medicare \| IAL Meeting
	\| USPS \| I don't know if you are aware of the new services offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS). For the past thirty four years we have used the USPS for all shipments when the payment in full is received with the order, no charge for shipping and handling. Yes, 90 Foam Filters $34.00. This is called a mail order business. To facilitate this we include a SASE with each order. This is expensive now about 50 cents each. We use FedEx when fast delivery is necessary. Credit card purchases require proof of delivery to satisfy the Credit Card Company. One of the new services of the USPS is three day delivery service in bigger Cities, with confirmation of delivery. This method of delivery satisfies the Credit Card Company. This service is less than half the cost of UPS or FedEx for almost the same service. Not $9 to $14 but only $5.50, quite a savings. Think about it with your next credit card purchase.	\| Medicare \| Medicare has changed their deductible, It is now $124.00. The prescription is the same, but if you are changing your filter more often, you should ask your physician to change your prescription. Many times we cannot foresee the future and are looking around for one to reuse or clambering to phone for an emergency supply. This emergency supply is expensive because two day service is expensive and will probably not be covered by your old prescription. Use your fore sight and ask for a change today. It probably can be done on the telephone. You are probably on a first name basis with your physician by now. -Rx

	\| Stoma Care \| As you know our Foam Filters are best used with an additional covering. I suggest a Cloth Stoma Cover. Naturally one of ours is best. If you haven't purchased a Cloth Stoma Cover in the past or received a sample, do so now, ask for a sample with your next order. You will find it more comfortable and it will reduce your need to cough. Cloth Stoma Covers come in ten colors and white. Our prices have not increased in the past ten years. All of our employees are United States citizens. All have been with the company at least ten years. Oops, one short timer has only been with us four years. I stand corrected.	\| IAL Meeting \| I intend to attend the IAL Meeting, be the good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, as Arthur Godfrey used to say. I have displayed our Stoma Care Products at these meetings for the past thirty years, give or take a few. As many as twenty display booths used to be the norm but now it is less than ten companies selling mostly the same foreign products and myself. I missed the last one in Boston because I play in a golf tournament every Labor Day. The Medicare: The insurance Maze is one of the topic sessions. Please take a look at the Patient Information form and Referring Physician's Prescription Form enclosed. Fill it out and ask your Doctor to prescribe your needs. Ask your supplier to accept your Medicare iassignment. You need not pay the full amount of your purchase if they will accept your claim assignment. There is no maze with our customers. They pay the first $124.00 and just 20% of their purchases for the rest of the year. It is that simple. No maze for our customers.

	\| Stoma Care \| My trachea has been shrinking for the past thirty four years, and now the two muscles on either side of my stoma are very prominent. My stoma in 1972 was flush with these two muscles. The shrinking trachea has pulled the stoma back at least a quarter of an inch. Sometimes this causes a skin irritation when removing the Foam Filter. A woman showed me how to cut the Foam Filter to reduce the amount of adhesive covering the muscles. This really works for me. I now add a small piece of adhesive at the bottom to insure the Foam Filter remains in place. This crude drawing shows the finished product I now use.	\| IAL Meeting \| Sometimes we enclose with your order a sample kit request card. I ask you to give it to a friend or your physician on your next visit. If your speech aid is getting old, close to five years, ask for a new prescription while you are there. Medicare will buy a new artificial larynx every five years and two batteries every six months. Lets discuss the upcoming IAL Meeting in Chicago July 19th to the 22nd, good room rate and free parking plus close to shopping for those not interested in some of the activities. It is away from the hubbub of downtown Chicago. I looked over the itinerary and it covers everything except esophageal speech. Esophageal speech is what most of us use around the house, when speech volume is not important. Expanding your home use exercises muscles that will increase your volume. Expand your use with force. If you wish to have more volume in a car with your esophageal speech, try an amplifier from Radio Shack. It is less then $50.00 and you can exercise your speech muscles effortlessly
