1.
I saw something on the Tele that really
confused me. A report in
Washington, D.C. stated that diesel fumes are harmful to one’s health.
We knew this twenty, no thirty, no forty years ago.
Large diesel trucks must have their exhaust directed upward and
vented, ten feet off the ground. “THIS
PRODUCT IS TREATED WITH A FORMALDEHYDE-BASED |
1. We have accepted the new United States Postal Service raise in prices without raising our prices at this time. Imagine, if you will, going into the Post office and asking for a penny post card. Medicare sets the prices for stoma care products and we have not had a raise for more than three years. Oil prices have increased which reflects the price we pay for our supplies. Foam and Tape are plastic which is a byproduct of oil. I will be attending the Texas Laryngectomee meeting in San Antonio from April 5th through the 8th. The vender’s viewing time is 8:A.M. on Friday the 6th till 5:30 P.M. and again on Saturday the 7th. |

1. Have you ever wondered how the movie actresses keep their chest covered when it is open down to their navel? We sell replacement tape, which is to be used when a laryngectomee wants to reuse a Foam Filter. The Foam Filter can be machine washed and dried with your other clothes. This destroys the adhesive tape and must be replaced for re-use of the Foam Filter. That is where we got the name ‘replacement tape.’ This tape can be used anytime you wish to hold a piece of cloth in place anywhere on the body. It is surgical quality and has hypoallergenic adhesive. Try a small piece on your stoma covers. This tape will stop the stoma cover from migrating around the neck while playing any active sport. |
At the IAL convention in
Vancouver, Canada several laryngectomee attendees came up to my booth
stating how they liked the Video I did several years ago on Esophageal
Speech. About four who had
their prosthesis in place started talking to me using their new esophageal
voice. They, like many
others, use esophageal speech in friendly places and use their finger when
in public. |
